Rugby World Cup is one of the most important sporting events behind the Olympics and FIFA World Cup. As the Official Logistics Partner of Rugby World Cup 2015, DHL will manage event logistics for the event, which will take place in host country England in September and October 2015.

The search for Canada's youth representative to Rugby World Cup 2015 is over! After receiving nominations from across Canada, the DHL Youth Leadership Scrum organizers are asking Canadians to cheer on Fredericton, New Brunswick's Lucy Black. This September, she will join Rugby Canada in Cardiff, Wales, delivering the Official Match Ball in front of thousands of spectators and cameras from around the world.

The first DHL Youth Leadership Scrum contest was launched this winter by DHL as an opportunity to recognize Canadian youth who show exceptional leadership through sports. Canadians were asked to nominate a child or youth who exhibits leadership qualities, promotes the spirit and practice of sport ideals, builds or promotes community values, and has a positive impact on the community.

“We received many outstanding submissions, all showcasing the talent and community-spirit exhibited by Canada's youth. Lucy stood out thanks to her fearless dedication to sports and academic excellence. We were also moved by her kindness. Lucy is known to jump on the chance to help others, including recently running a race as a guide for a younger student with development challenges,” said Andrew Williams, CEO of DHL Express Canada.

As a twelve year old, Lucy played full contact coed U14 7's rugby against mostly older and stronger players. She made a mark on the team with her determination and grit, which also helped her to be the only 13 year old selected to join the Canada Games U16 Alpine Ski team for New Brunswick. Lucy was joined in the contest finalist circle by Milton, Ontario's Kilian Kelly, and Emma Feldinger from Alexis Creek, British Columbia.
